A CARLISLE internet consultancy is helping some of Britain’s biggest road hauliers motor onto the worldwide web.
Go4more has carved out a niche designing websites for truckers.
From an initial enquiry by Stampers of Kirkbride, Go4more now has 40 clients in the haulage industry.
These include Cumbrian firm Stoddart’s Solid Fuels, W Martin Oliver of Hexham and heavyweight Scottish operator Sandy Kydd.
Go4more’s general manager Helen Burfield says that half of the consultancy’s work now comes from the haulage sector.
The company, founded in 1998, employs four permanent staff plus a variable number of sub-contractors, based at offices in Warwick Road.
It is now looking to expand its new E-Truck brand by attracting business from as far away as Kent and Holland.
Miss Burfield said: “It is an exciting industry to work with and one that is often misunderstood.”
Go4more has embraced sponsorship to promote its brand, putting its distinctive E-Truck logo on the side of a racing truck in national and international contests.
Miss Burfield said: “It is a huge buzz to see your name on a truck going round a hairpin bend.
“But the bigger buzz for us is taking the benefits of websites to businesses who maybe don’t have huge knowledge of IT.
“People in business don’t always have time to learn everything there is to know about the internet. What they are really looking for is someone who can provide a flexible service.
“The mistake they often make is thinking websites are about IT rather than marketing the business.”
