Mat Summerfield’s 2005 Seddon Atkinson will be raced in Class B by Elton Boocock. Fixed shock absorbers will be fitted to the truck to get it Class B specs and Elton’s keen to get out in this well prepared truck. Mat’s preparing a new Cummins powered truck for 2006.
Class B Champion Andrew Hardy is preparing an Iveco Strailis for 2006 which could feel the pressure from Gary George’s newly prepared Foden Alpha. However the 23 year old youngster Terry Gibbon’s Volvo White chased the field in 2005 with fastest laps and three wins, and Max Dawson’s Seddon could be up in the points if he solves his turbo problems.
The sport welcomes 36 year old newcomer Ian Gypps from Cambridgeshire who after spectating last year got well-hooked and bought Garry George’s Foden, and Graham Powell driving the B Class championship winning Ford Cargo.
Chris Levett, a 21-year old HGV driver from Bromsgrove, is due to make his debut at the wheel of the Atkins Racing MAN TGA. The truck will carry the distinctive blue livery of the family business – Bird’s Transport.
Chris is following in the footsteps of his father Andy, an ex-factory Scania racer in European Truck Racing Cup in the 1980’s.
